A reader pointed out that google chrome complained about this site. Said we spread malware. So I checked, and sure enough, got a message to that effect. Looking into it, it was complaining about something in an iframe in front of the video. This came from the link on youtube. So to get this correct … Google was complaining about the embed code contained on youtube. Don’t think about this one too hard.

Doug showed me this video this morning. Its not about HPC, but what you see here is … well … strangely reminiscent of what we encounter when it comes time to negotiate a sale. It is humorous, only if you haven’t seen people try this stuff. We have people try this stuff all the time with us.

We’ve been running a pipeline our spam tagging and virus removal for a while. It was integrated into the pipeline via procmail, not directly into postfix. Well, I finally figured out how to do one of the stages as an integrated tagger within postfix. Turns out to be fairly easy. And I didn’t create the method, I simply adapted it. We can always switch back to the other method if needed.

You have to create an account on the site, and you need a real email and contact data to see pricing/enter stuff into the cart. Account creation will require administrator approval. It is very cool, Doug ordered several JackRabbits for himself this week… None of this would have been possible, of course, without Doug, and his tireless and fearless pursuit of this function.

Wow … this has been one of our most active days/weeks. I hope we don’t delay the PR, but I am clearly in need of additional hands. Doug suggested cloning, though this is illegal in the state of Michigan. I thought I had cleared my plate last night. Nope. No such luck.

Visteon filed chapter 11 today. Visteon is parts supplier to Ford. Ford now has to help them out … or risk not being able to get sub-assemblies. This is not good for Ford, significantly increases the risk for them. Metaldyne also filed. Metaldyne was a supplier to Chrysler. When Chrysler filed Chapter 11, well, suppliers won’t get paid for a while … if at all. Metaldyne will sell chunks of itself off.

I read several excellent synopses from SiCortex former staff such as Jeff Darcy, and Matt Reilly. Jeff and Matt gave several excellent arguments as to why SiCortex succeeded, despite getting the plug pulled. Some will guffaw about this, and say that pulling the plug was evidence of failure. They would be wrong. VCs will pull plugs everywhere from pre-term sheet to capital call time. Their rationale for pulling plugs won’t always make sense, to you, or others.

You have to have registered for an account to use them, and you have to be logged in to enable it. I removed as many “garbage” accounts as I could find. If I removed your account and it wasn’t garbage, please accept my apology. If I see an increase in garbage account registrations, I’ll change the registration procedures. I hope I don’t have to do it. I tried the follow up, I think it is working (I got the email).
